Objectives / Role

 

 
  • Identify the key principles of community development.

  • Highlight good practice and explore and disseminate innovative strategies within Community Development.

  • Develop a consistent approach among Partnerships and guide them, through PLANET, into the next Programme through recommended approaches to Community Development.

  • Influence community development Programmes on a National basis.

  • Identify strategies to support communities' participation in decision-making structures.

Meeting Times

 

Once every two months

Reporting Procedure

 

To PLANET Network every quarter and provides relevant updates to PLANET management committee and Community Development Co-ordinators as required.

Workplan 2008

 
  • To Promote the Principles and Indicators of Community Development.

  • Continue to ensure the Principles of Community Development are supported through the new Programme.

  • Provide ongoing information and supports to the Network on how best to ensure Social Inclusion representation on Partnership Boards.

  • Continue to raise awareness of the work of policy group, and promote discussion and information exchange both internally and externally.

 

Informing Network

 
  • Through constant email communication with partnership staff and boards of management

  • On a quarterly basis at PLANET Network Meeting
